ecobee Home Energy Reports will become available to all ecobee Smart Thermostat customers, providing detailed insights to help monitor energy usage from their home’s heating and cooling system, identify potential system issues, and compare energy consumption to others in their community, right in the ecobee app. Homeowners want to better understand how their heating and cooling runtime impacts their home’s energy costs and potential savings but accessing the data on their own can be complicated and frustrating. Home Energy Reports answers that call with a detailed, intuitive solution that gives customers access to important data in one place.

"With Home Energy Reports, we’re providing our customers with the ability to easily observe and monitor the heating and cooling activity in their homes," said Bryan Hurren, VP, Product & Design at ecobee. "From monitoring their home’s energy usage to determining how efficient their heating and cooling system is, we are helping homeowners gain a better understanding of their HVAC system and make informed decisions about their home."

ecobee Home Energy Reports showcase how customers’ energy savings compare to others in their state or province. A home’s energy efficiency rank provides insight into the relative energy efficiency of a home’s heating and cooling system, identifying potential to improve energy savings and encouraging more sustainable energy decisions while fostering a sense of community. If ecobee alerts a homeowner about a concern with their heating and cooling system, they will now be able to review HVAC runtime, temperature and humidity data all in one place to help assess if there is an issue and accelerate time to resolve it with support.

Home Energy Reports will begin rolling out as a free software update in the ecobee app for all ecobee Smart Thermostat customers using iOS 16 or later and Android 10 or later on December 11, 2024. For more information, please visit https://www.ecobee.com/en-us/smart-thermostats/.
