Harmonic Growth Partners, a leading expansion-stage investment firm that uniquely combines experienced investors with world-class technology CEOs, is excited to announce the addition of Daniel Vernic to its investment team as a Principal. Daniel's addition underscores Harmonic's commitment to offering market-leading, rapidly scaling technology companies a highly differentiated and valuable investment partner.

Based in San Francisco, Daniel spent the first five years of his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in both equity and fixed income financial markets. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business where he was a Batten Scholar and completed the Darden Venture Fellows Program. Daniel joined Harmonic last summer as an M.B.A. intern and worked with the team through his second year of graduate school.

“Daniel’s extensive network and deep understanding of financial markets are already proving invaluable to our strategy,” said Brian Matthews, Co-founder and General Partner at Harmonic. “His ability to drive unique deal flow, cultivate relationships with limited partners, and add strategic value across our portfolio aligns perfectly with our vision. We are thrilled to formally welcome him to the team.”

Daniel joins Harmonic’s distinguished expansion-stage investment strategy that integrates seasoned investors and accomplished technology CEOs. Co-founding General Partners Mike Ward, Nick Superina, and Brian Matthews have worked together for almost 20 years. They’ve backed a variety of industry-leading technology companies, including Teladoc (NASDAQ: TDOC), Peloton (NASDAQ: PTON), ServiceMax (acquired by GE), Applause (acquired by Vista Equity Partners), SocialTables (acquired by Cvent), Taulia (acquired by SAP), and Venafi (acquired by Thoma Bravo and CyberArk).

Within this established strategy, Harmonic has now deeply integrated a select group of highly accomplished, previously venture-backed CEOs. These CEO Partners are universally respected operators and broadly networked sector experts. This elite group of CEO Partners, including Dave Yarnold (ServiceMax), Manolo Sanchez (BBVA USA), John Jack (Fortify), and Tony Zingale (Mercury Interactive, Jive, Clarify), have collectively driven over $15B in successful exits.

Harmonic offers expansion-stage management teams a unique value proposition: an experienced lead investor, along with a recent, relevant, energized, and focused world-class operator on their Board at the exact stage where this insight and engagement can have the most impact.

Reflecting on his new role, Daniel Vernic remarked, “Over the last 15 months, I’ve had the opportunity to see the Harmonic model play out firsthand. It has become clear to me that the combination of an investment team that has been together for two decades and our CEO Partner operator focused approach is a winning strategy. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of individuals to work with and I’m excited to start making an impact on day one.”

The Harmonic portfolio includes market leaders like ApplyBoard, Caribou, Electric, Harness, Nova Credit, OpenSpace, Overjet, RapidSOS, and Taulia (acquired by SAP). The firm continues to seek out and support companies poised to lead in their respective markets.
