Myriad Systems, a leader in healthcare practice management software and services, announces new AI-powered enhancements designed to reduce the time and effort needed for compliant clinical documentation. A comprehensive set of features for Myriad Health, MyScribe AI enables providers to chart using their preferred method and quickly generate accurate clinical narratives and suggestive coding.

According to the American Medical Informatics Association, 74.4% of providers say documentation impedes patient care and 77.4% report working late or at home to complete it.

“Providers face immense pressures, and documentation is a major contributor to burnout,” said Jeremy Shiner, founder and president of Myriad Systems. “Myriad Systems is applying innovative AI capabilities across our solutions to lift these burdens, ensuring data integrity and security while freeing providers to focus on what truly matters – patient care.”

Providers maintain full control over their experience as MyScribe AI aggregates and curates data using only provider-designated inputs. With one click, MyScribe AI transforms selected data into narratives and then maps it to the corresponding section of the clinical note, which providers can review and approve before finalizing.

A self-contained system, MyScribe AI is crafted to maintain content accuracy with controls around accessing outside information, virtually eliminating instances of hallucinations. Data is securely stored on Myriad Systems’ HIPAA-compliant servers to protect information from being shared with outside entities or AI aggregators. To further reinforce providers’ confidence and trust, Myriad Health is certified as part of the rigorous ONC Health IT Certification Program, reaffirming it meets the security, functionality, and technological capability requirements of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The ONC certification coupled with this broad level of AI capabilities in an all-in-one solution puts Myriad Health in a unique class within health IT.

Enhancing clinical documentation

A proprietary system powered by a medically trained language model, MyScribe AI pulls data from templates, patient histories, treatment plans, codes, vitals and more. All charting methods are integrated across Myriad Health.

  • Generative Charting: Providers input brief segments for each section of a clinical note (e.g., SOAP format), then MyScribe AI enhances these sections, generating a structured note with selected data.
  • Chat-Style Charting: Providers enter prompts and select inputs, which MyScribe AI transforms into detailed notes, mapping data to the appropriate sections (e.g., intake entries to subjective notes).
  • Ambient Transcribing: MyScribe AI transcribes patient interactions in real-time, creating and mapping structured narratives that providers can review and adjust as required, reducing the need for post-visit documentation.
  • On-Demand Enhancements: In the standard clinical note area, providers can transcribe or type a full note. Before signing, they can leverage MyScribe AI to enhance sections or the entire note for consistent formatting and improved syntax.
  • Template Narratives: MyScribe AI converts simple template-based inputs into rich narratives. Providers may include or exclude patient-completed forms.
  • AI-Driven Coding: MyScribe AI suggests CPT and ICD-10 codes based on existing data and narratives.

“Technology for patient care and office use is essential in today's medical practice,” said Dr. John Brummer, DPM, president of Brummer Surgical Podiatry in New York. “The comprehensive Myriad Health EHR with these AI capabilities has the potential to transform how providers chart and run practices.”

Myriad Health helps practices streamline workflows, improve efficiencies and ensure proper payment. Myriad Health provides a thorough view into the complete patient interaction, sharing data in a compliant manner within a closed loop between the electronic health records (EHR), billing, patient communications, forms and other functions. The fully customizable system offers a unique pricing model where providers only pay for credit card processing service fees through Myriad MediPay, a Myriad Systems company.

MyScribe AI is available now, with regular feature updates to enhance functionality. Existing Myriad Health users will receive these updates automatically at no additional cost.
