Venafi, the leader in machine identity management, today announced its first-ever Workload Identity Day Zero event on November 12, 2024, co-located with KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT. The event will bring together platform engineers, cloud security architects and CTOs to explore unique workload identity challenges in complex cloud native environments, share best practices for effectively securing workloads in their organizations and network with the leaders shaping workload identity management.

The Workload Identity Day Zero speaker line-up will feature leading experts in the space, including:

  • Liz Rice, Chief Open Source Officer, Isovalent
  • Tomer Greenwald, CEO and Co-Founder, Otterize
  • Louis Bailleul, Chief Enterprise Architect, PGS
  • Andrew Block, Distinguished Architect, Red Hat
  • Evan Gilman, Co-Founder and CEO, SPIRL
  • Matt Barker, VP & Global Head of Workload Identity Architecture, Venafi
  • Mattias Gees, Director of Technology, Venafi

“With more clouds, clusters and microservices than ever, workload identity is becoming a more urgent issue for organizations to address,” said Matt Barker, VP & global head of workload identity architecture at Venafi. “This event is a must-attend for anyone who is interested in gaining a better understanding of increasing workload identity complexity and exploring ways to solve these emerging workload identity problems.”

Venafi is also hosting a hands-on SPIFFE & SPIRE in Practice training on November 11. Delivered by the creators of the machine identity management category and inventors of cert-manager, the expert training will provide attendees with the SPIFFE and SPIRE skills required to implement secure workload identity management, reduce secrets sprawl, take control of overprivileged workloads and implement a zero-trust networking model.
